Journey Books

The Girl Scout program starts girls off on a Journey of their choice. They'll earn awards, have fun, and take on projects that change the world. Girls then add The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting to their program portfolio. The Girl's Guide offers girls national proficiency badges, traditions and history, an awards log, and much more.

The Journey Books and Guide Books are available online from the Girl Scout Shop
Welcome to the Daisy Flower Garden
In this journey for kindergarteners and first-graders, a favorite pastime—gardening—meets the Girl Scout Law. The result is a storybook world of flowers and little girls who, together, do great things. Girl Scout Daisies will especially enjoy meeting the colorful, global characters who teach them to live the Girl Scout Law. The adult "how-to" guide offers Garden Story Time tips, key ideas for garden projects, and all the Girl Scout history and traditions needed for an adventure starring Amazing Daisy, a new flower friend for Girl Scout Daisies.
Between Earth and Sky
In this journey Girl Scout Daisies join their flower friends for a cross-country road trip in their special flower-powered car! As they travel the country living the values of the Girl Scout Law, the flowers explore the natural world around them, learning what's local and why that's important. Along the way, the flower friends (and the girls!) sample the sights, and the wisdom of women working to protect Planet Earth.

5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals!
In this journey the Daisies learn just how much they can care for animals and for themselves—and just how good that makes them feel. 5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals! will also introduce Daisies to the stories of the flower friends: Daisy, Sunny, Tula, Gloria, Gerri, Rosie, Vi, Clover, Mari, Lupe and Zinni. Each flower friend corresponds to a value in the Girl Scout Law.

For each Journey, everything girls do—whether it's performing science experiments, creating art projects, cooking simple meals, or learning to protect the planet's water supply—is aimed at giving them the benefits of the Girl Scout "Keys to Leadership": Discover, Connect, Take Action.

Here's how they work:

  • A girl Discovers her special skills and talents, finds the confidence to set challenging goals for herself and strives to live by her values. This includes being proud of where she came from as well as where she's going.
  • A girl Connects with others, which means she learns how to team up, solve conflicts, and have healthy relationships. These skills help her in school right now and prepare her for any career she chooses in the future.
  • A girl Takes Action and makes the world a better place, learning a lot about her community and the world along the way.
